As Library Director, Laurel oversees the planning, organization, and day-to-day operations of the Alice M. Farr Library. She is committed to expanding the library’s collections, enhancing programs, and developing services that meet the evolving needs of the Aurora community while fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Working closely with the Library Board, the Friends of the Library, library professionals, and local organizations, Laurel is dedicated to promoting the library and its many resources. Her goal is to make the Alice M. Farr Library a welcoming destination where people of all ages can connect, learn, and grow.
Laurel earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 1991, followed by a Master of Arts from UNL in 1996. She completed her Public Library Certification through Central Community College in 2021. Laurel began her library career at the Fullerton Public Library in 2022 and is excited to have returned to her hometown to serve as Library Director at the Alice M. Farr Library.
